In his words
Nathan goes into hospitals and clinics to find the problems clinicians have, and carries them back to the people writing the software. He does not design from the outside.
That habit is trained in the lab. As a research assistant in Cal Poly Pomona's motor neuroscience group, he has designed and executed human-subject experiments, instrumented participants with EMG and motion-capture systems, and collected and analyzed neuromuscular and movement data. The work has been published and presented.
The other room is a working clinic. As a physical therapy aide at Empower PT & Wellness in Chino, he guides patients through prescribed exercise and records their progress for the therapy team. He still works that floor.

Carries clinical problems back to the people building the systems; on Ross, the firm-facing product, simplified the folder-picker flow to one action per screen and fixed a disabled "Add client" control to explain why it was blocked instead of silently refusing.
